Server on fire

Those who become slaves to habit die slowly,
repeating the same routes every day,
never changing brands,
never daring to wear a new color
or speak to someone they do not know.

Those who make television their guru die slowly.

Those who avoid passion die slowly,
those who prefer black and white
and dotting every “i”
to a whirlwind of emotions—
the very emotions that restore the sparkle in the eyes,
turn yawns into smiles,
make hearts stumble,
and awaken feelings.

Those who do not shake things up
when they are unhappy with their work die slowly,
those who do not risk certainty for uncertainty
to pursue a dream,
those who do not allow themselves,
at least once in their lives,
to ignore sensible advice.

Those who do not travel die slowly,
those who do not read,
those who do not listen to music,
those who cannot laugh at themselves.

Those who destroy their self-respect die slowly,
those who refuse to let others help them.

Those who spend their days complaining
about their bad luck
or the endless rain die slowly.

Those who abandon a project before beginning it die slowly,
those who do not ask about something they do not understand,
or do not answer when asked about something they know.

Let us avoid dying in small doses,
always remembering that being alive requires far more effort
than the simple act of breathing.

Only perseverance will allow us to attain
a splendid state of happiness.
